Monstera Deliciosa Grow Light. The deliciosa epithet means delicious and refers to the edible fruit whereas monstera means monstrous referring to the plants size which is quite impressive. In that respect the more light the better.
This process is known as fenestration and its thought that plants do this in the wild to let as much light as possible through to the lower leaves. If you have it near afternoon sun then move it back from the window. Each heart shaped leaf that appears starts of as a full leaf and then begins to form its slits.
If the temperature drops below 50F 10 the plant will seize growing.
Its a pretty clever trick. Bright indirect sunlight near a window. Outdoors the Monstera deliciosa can grow in the full shade of deep woodlands and semi-shade of light woodlands. I grow mine in a large Eastern exposure window so it received plenty of light including morning sun which is gentle on the plant.
